Logistics Coordinator (Lewis Run, PA)

Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing a wide variety of events and projects as they relate to company
shipping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accurately complete domestic and foreign shipping documents in a timely fashion. Documents include but are not limited to: P/S (packing slip), BOL (Bill of Lading), SLI (Shipper Letter of Instruction), NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement), CI (Commercial Invoice) and SED/EEI (Shippers Export Declaration/Electronic Export Info).
  • Schedule shipments including but not limited to: UPS FedEx, Freight and overseas.
  • Prep for shipment including but not limited to: wrapping parts and packing boxes & crates.
  • Build crates including operation of fabrication machinery (i.e., circular saw, wall saw, miter saw, nail gun, drill etc).
  • Reading blueprints and CAD (Computer-Aided Design).
  • Fill freight RFQ’s (Request For Quotes) for sales.
  • Load and unload trucks by hand or using forklift.
  • Verify parts and quantities of parts received match what is shown on vendor packing lists and on company purchase orders.
  • Note missing or damaged cartons on carriers’ bills of lading. Notify Purchasing Department of any discrepancies or damages.
  • Maintain correct stock quantities through cycle counts.
  • Regularly check shelves to determine items needed for stock replenishment. Pull overflow items necessary to fill these shelves.

Tools and Technology Skills:

  • Regular use of desktop computer including Microsoft Office software, scanner, copier, fax, telephone and related sales software. Regular use of bander, forklift, saws, hand tools and truck.
  • Requires valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, packing lists, production orders and Material Test Reports. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and project a professional image to visitors and customers.

Expected Hours of Work:

  • Days and hours of work Monday through Friday, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. Work schedule may have extended hours and/or perform weekend work when the need arises. Work schedule may have a temporary, alternative arrangement or shift as requested by supervisor.
